Learning a new language is an excellent choice, no matter what. It opens a new world of opportunities, figuratively and literally. You will be able to communicate with other people from other countries and cultures. And if you want, you can make a career out of the second language. But if you don’t want to, a second language is always a plus in your curriculum.
For example, if you decide to learn Spanish, French, or German, you could work with companies that have international clients or locations, and the language will improve your collaboration abilities. On the other hand, you can also learn a programming language. The bright side of learning one of these is that it will be easier to learn any other language once you learn the basics.

Finance skills are something that most people lack. We don’t learn the importance of personal finances in school, and many people don’t realize it throughout their lives. They spend year after year; making poor financial decisions that only takes them deeper into debt. But knowing how to manage your money is as important as finding a well-paid job.
In fact, if you don’t know how to manage your money, it doesn’t matter if you win the lottery because you will probably lose it in months. In the US, 46% of the population doesn’t have an emergency fund for any unexpected event. And 19% of the people said their expenses surpassed their income. Those are things that people learn in a personal finance class.
Take advantage of the pandemic, especially if you lost your job and find yourself in a tight financial spot, to learn how to manage your money correctly. It will be something that you will use for the rest of your life.
Project Management
Project managers are essential to many companies. Depending on the industry, they have different names but the skills needed are very similar. They need to be organized, know how to manage a team of professionals, make schedules, and plan how to reach a goal. They will need other skills specific to each niche. For example, in the tech industry, they are called product managers, and they also know about software development, UX design, and other tech skills.
This skill is an excellent option if you want to reach a management position in your profession at some point. You can learn many concepts with experience, but if you do a project management course, you will make your curriculum stand out from the start.

With the increase in technology came the increase in data. All the devices around us are constantly gathering information about how we use them. It is what industries call big data, and it can give powerful insights to make better decisions. Business intelligence is the ability to analyse data to make powerful decisions. Having this skill can mean being able to create tools that analyse this data.
For example, some data scientists specialized in this area and became business intelligence analysts. But, it can also mean knowing how to use existing software that already does the bulk of the job for you. The key part is knowing how to understand the data to make the right decision.
